Jan Hein's favorite Tulip. Who is Jan Hein again, you may wonder. Well, Jan Hein is the young man who has been passionately caring for our Daffodils for years and is building up a beautiful Tulip nursery himself.

Jan Hein has really beautiful tulips, including the varieties Blue Diamond , Rosy Diamond and Novi Sun that you can find in our webshop, which come from Jan Hein's nursery.

When I asked Jan Hein why he found such a good Tulip at Alison Bradley, I got an answer that shows he has an eye for it. The parents of Alison Bradley are Monte Carlo and Negrita , he told me, both Tulips that were grown on hundreds of hectares in the past, so the growth power must be there.

Furthermore, Alison Bradley is an all-round Tulip, she does fantastic in the garden but is also very suitable to use as a cut flower in the winter months. She also has very long-lasting flowers, in the garden she blooms for weeks and as a cut flower she has an excellent vase life. And if you plant large bulbs of Alison Bradley in the garden she is very multi-flowered, each Tulip of size 12/+ gives at least 3 flowers.

Finally, Jan Hein said with a big smile, 'and of course I just think she's incredibly beautiful'.

Tulips

Of all bulbs, the tulip is the best known. Tulip bulbs are widely traded and even play a role in Dutch history. The plant was introduced in the Golden Age in our country.

Planting tulips:
They thrive in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tulips hate wet feet and require well-drained soil. Never plant tulips in a single row; for best results, plant them in groups of at least 15-20 bulbs. They also make excellent container plants and are great as cut flowers.
