These Tulips are bred by students of the agricultural university in Wageningen. Professor Jaap van Tuyl gave his students a project to breed strong and disease resistant Tulips. Professor Van Tuyl has a good reputation among the bulb growers. Over the last decennia quite a lot of good Tulips are bred by his students. The Impression Tulips and the Van Eijk Tulips are the most successful ones so far.

Also, with the “Delight” Tulips Professor Van Tuyl was able to guide his students in the right direction, they came up with wonderful series of Tulips.

All of them have the same shape of flower, bloom about the same time and are in the pinkish red corner of the colour spectrum. I fancy each one of them, but my American customer advised me to try and plant them as a mixture. The result was amazing, perfect match. They are made for each other.

Tulips

Of all bulbs, the tulip is the best known. Tulip bulbs are widely traded and even play a role in Dutch history. The plant was introduced in the Golden Age in our country.

Planting tulips:
They thrive in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tulips hate wet feet and require well-drained soil. Never plant tulips in a single row; for best results, plant them in groups of at least 15-20 bulbs. They also make excellent container plants and are great as cut flowers.
