Peony Moonrise

Moonrise is a Peony that is closely related to the Peony species. According to the records she originated from a crossing between the Paeonia albilora, which grows in the wild in China, and the Paeoniea lobata. Her singular Anemone like blooming flowers are not very long lasting but as a whole she truly is a sight to see. Short and stocky with beautiful leaves and a very accessible and soft color that floats between a creamy butter and a lovely piece of grass cheese. And yes, of course I was happy with the bee that decided to get some Chinese take-out.
