I always secretly remain a little in love with these so-called 'collar' Dahlias. The open character and the simplicity in the flower shape with those subtle swallowtails on the petals and then also that always buzzing of the many bees around her flowers. I just love to see these nice happy Dahlias. A nice tip immediately comes to mind; if you don't like bees at all, just buy a few to give to the neighbours... the bees are there in the garden. Furthermore, I can't say anything sensible about her name Liquid Desire, a bit of a strange name for a Dahlia. Certainly a good name because it is one that makes you think and if you are made to think you will remember it better. But what do you think of such a name; liquid desire... I am inclined to think that the person who gave this beautiful Dahlia the name Liquid Desire really likes a drink. Or is it the Dahlia that is very thirsty? It actually doesn't matter at all, the richly and cheerfully flowering Liquid Desire is one that is highly appreciated by bees and butterflies and I also like to see her in my garden... Cheers!

Dahlias
The Dahlia truly deserves every bit of love she receives. Every gardener should be placing her om a pedestal: Dahlias carry flowers for a long time, and in a large number. Even when autumn is approaching, you don’t need to worry: the Dahlia will be there to give your garden those last few rays of sunshine.
Planting dahlias:
Dahlias are summer bloomers and should be planted in spring, after the last night frost, when the soil temperature is at least 15°C. Plant the tubers about 40 cm apart for tall varieties and 30 cm for shorter varieties. For pots, choose very large pots, because dahlias need a lot of water in the warm summer months. Plant them just under the soil, about 2 cm deep.
