By far the reddest red Amaryllis I have ever seen. In addition to being the reddest, it is also one of the largest Amaryllises. The last photo shows the annual Amaryllis trial planting in our living room. Every winter I plant 2 pots of all Amaryllis bulbs to see if they are doing well and if they were delivered in the right variety. At the top in the middle you see the healthy Amaryllis Red Cream. If you look closely at the flower crowd, you will see that it is really one of the largest flowers in the picture. I am crazy about her, if I have to give someone a present I prefer to take the Red Cream.

Planting and care of Amaryllis bulbs

Plant the amaryllis bulb in a sturdy pot filled with compost, leaving approximately one-third of the bulb above the surface. Place the pot in a warm, bright position and keep the compost slightly moist. With the right care, you can enjoy its impressive flowers within six to eight weeks.

An amaryllis can also be grown in water without compost. Use a suitable amaryllis vase and make sure that only the roots touch the water. This helps prevent the bulb from rotting.

You can order amaryllis bulbs from us from the beginning of autumn. We start shipping from November, so your bulbs arrive in time to enjoy their spectacular flowers during winter and around the Christmas season.

An amaryllis can flower in the middle of winter. Once the prepared bulb is brought into room temperature, it begins to grow and flower.

Yes, you can try to keep an amaryllis bulb and bring it back into flower. We guarantee flowering in the first year, but we cannot guarantee that it will flower again in subsequent years.

After flowering, the amaryllis can continue growing in a warm, bright place, such as outdoors in the garden or in a conservatory. It then needs a cooler resting period before being moved back into warmth to encourage another flowering cycle.

Keep the potting soil moist but not waterlogged. The bulb needs relatively little water at first, but its water requirements increase once the amaryllis starts growing actively.

Amaryllis bulbs are given a cool period before flowering. When the bulb is then brought into a warm home, it responds as though spring has begun and starts to grow and bloom.
