Amaryllis Papilio

A gadget for the real Amaryllis lover; the butterfly Amaryllis. For many generations, you she has been offered by specialty bulb traders but she never grew out to a large commercial stock. She is just a little bit too difficult to grow for the Amaryllis bulb growers. Also with you in the living room this species Amaryllis, originally from the sub-tropical rainforest in Brazil, will not perform as easy as the other Amaryllises. Some years she will do well and start blooming shortly after you planted her but papillio might just as well be very slow and let you wait many months before she shows her flowers. But papillio is very suitable as an evergreen houseplant in conservatory or other kind of light and warm room in your house. Plant her in a large pot and leave her undisturbed, her foliage will stay green and every now and then, when she feels like it, she will show you a beautiful exotic flower.
