"Bright white Amaryllis Elvas has a burning heart, which creates a beautiful contrast. It was love at first sight when I first saw this beauty. I fell even more in love with her when I found out that she also does exceptionally well when planted in a pot. She always has two sturdy stems, sometimes even a third, and flowers that continue to bloom for a long time. She is absolutely worth a shot.

The colour contrast you see on the photos is caused by the intensity of the light. When there is more light, the red colour of the heart of the amaryllis grows more intense. When it is a little darker, the red is less bright, and the graceful red lines around the petals get more noticeable. When I see Elvas in a greenhouse at the grower’s in March, the colours are always much sharper than they are when Elvas is standing in my living room in January. But with a little or a lot of red, Elvas is simply beautiful. "

Amaryllis

The biggest reason I love the Amaryllis so much is because she always performs well. Always? Yes always. No kidding, if you leave them in the box they will still bloom. It seems that it can’t go wrong.

Planting Amaryllis:
Planting an amaryllis is quite easy. Plant the amaryllis bulb in a pot that is half filled with soil, but in such a way that the neck of the bulb protrudes above the soil. Make sure that the soil remains somewhat moist and place the pot in a warm, but not too sunny place, then within six to eight weeks there will be a beautiful amaryllis in your living room.

It is even possible to plant an amaryllis bulb without using soil. Then it needs a vase in which the bulb can stand upright. This way the roots can hang in the water.
