Our Flower Picking Garden is Open!

Dear readers,

Carlos is in the United States at the moment, so after a few weeks of newsletters written by Pien, it was now up tot he ladies from the office to write a short message. First things first, we want to wish you a happy and healthy spring season. We have had some good weather over the past couple of weeks, and we hope it has been the same for you. We are really seeing the Tulips coming into the world!

The Tulips are a bit late this year, and that is due to the weather. And as we rely on both Tulips and good weather for our picking garden, we were eagerly awaiting the right moment to open the garden again. And it has finally arrived!

In our picking garden, you can choose from lots of different shapes and colours and pick the flowers that fit your home and style. And as always, we have put the picking garden right next to our Fluwel Trial Garden, so you can also see every single Tulip and Daffodil- flower that we have available in our web shop in real life. If you are in the neighbourhood, we really hope to see you there!

As this is the English version of the newsletter, you may not live in The Netherlands, but still, if you have a visit planned, we would highly recommend going for a bike ride in North Holland. It is super easy to fill your day just looking at the flower fields. This is the time of year we feel most lucky as we all drive in to work in the morning—just by looking at the amount of flowers we all see between our own homes, which are all at least somewhat close to Burgervlotbrug, and our Fluwel office.

If you search for Bloeiend Zijpe, you can also find an organised cycling- and hiking day. They do this every year, and it is perfect if you do not like to plan your own route or if you are simply unfamiliar with the area.

And as always, if you would like to extend the colours you see during the spring time until very late into the summer, maybe even into early Autumn, we recommend using the nice weather to plant Dahlias in your garden. The perfect time to plant Dahlias is when the risk of night frost has gone down to practically zero, which is around now in most places. Dahlias don’t like the cold nights, which is why you should wait until those are gone.

Carlos has written more information about planting Dahlias on the website.

And if you miss him too much by now, there are also a lot of older blogs online, available to read for everyone :)
Dahlia Super Mix - Dahlias - Fluwel
If you would like a Dahlia recommendation, we would advise you to look into the ‘Super Mix’. This is a large, varied assortment of Dahlias, all picked and packaged by us personally. You can choose either 100 or 150 tubers, and you will get an astonishing variety of all kinds of Dahlias. Perfect also if you don’t really know what you want and just want to see which Dahlias you like best!

Dahlia Plukkie Plukkie mixture - Dahlias - Fluwel
If 100 tubers seems a bit much to you, we also have ‘Plukkie Plukkie Mix’ (Picky Picky, literally translated). This mixture has 10 tubers, and we have especially made Plukkie Plukkie 1, 2 and 3, so if you order three of them, you will certainly get three different mixtures!

Thank you for reading. We hope to see you in our garden this Spring!

Kind regards,
Lian
