"For the true enthusiast. This lovely smelling Vanilla Schnapps with her butter soft color is relatively new under the Dutch growers, but everything points towards her being here to stay. An early flowerer with exceptionally big flowers and a very rare color in the world of Peonies. Her surprisingly fresh vanilla color gets creamier when her flowers get older but there is not a moment where she loses her youthful appearance during her blooming period. The growers also predict a big future for her as an easy and healthy grower with a good number of flowers. As a flower bud she shows an intense, almost yellow, color what makes her unique under the cut Peonies. Peony growers like to invest into a good variety like Vanilla Schnapps, which is why she is on the expensive side.

Planting flower bulbs

When should I plant my flower bulbs? If you want beautiful flowers such as tulips and daffodils in your garden in the spring, you will need to plant flower bulbs in the fall. This can be done as soon as the leaves fall from the trees. Make sure that the spring bloomers are in the ground before the frost sets in.

Summer bloomers such as dahlias and lilies should be planted in the spring so that they bloom in the summer.

Planting flower bulbs is not complicated at all. The same principles apply in principle:

  • do not plant the bulb too deep in the ground (usually between 8 and 18 centimeters)
  • provide good natural conditions
  • be frugal with fertilizer and let the bulb do its work
