The yellow colour variant of the now legendary Tulip Leo . It has been at least ten years since we bought this Tulip together with her mother Leo from the Heemskerk grower Aardenburg. The good man stopped and was looking for a new home for his unique Tulips. He asked a lot of money so we were seriously doubting whether we should buy them.

'Don't hesitate' Eric Breed told us. That tulip is unique, nobody has this, you will definitely earn something with it. We are so glad that we did it anyway and started growing this tulip, Eric was so right. After the tulip Leo became known at the flower auction in Aalsmeer, a real hype arose. Every hip and trendy flower shop wanted this tulip. For years it has been by far the most expensive tulip at the flower auction.

Plant her in the garden in a spot where you can see her well and show her well to friends and acquaintances. Especially when her large flowers open in the sunlight, this rarity is a sight to behold. Do not be afraid that this, rather expensive, Tulip will not do well in your garden because she originated from the Tulip Oxford, a real Darwin hybrid Tulip so excellent for the garden.

Tulips

Of all bulbs, the tulip is the best known. Tulip bulbs are widely traded and even play a role in Dutch history. The plant was introduced in the Golden Age in our country.

Planting tulips:
They thrive in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tulips hate wet feet and require well-drained soil. Never plant tulips in a single row; for best results, plant them in groups of at least 15-20 bulbs. They also make excellent container plants and are great as cut flowers.
