Lilium lancifolium Flore Pleno

The double form of the original tiger lily ‘Lilium lancifolium. She is as old as the road to Rome. On my bookshelf I have a book ‘The Lis’ dating 1874 in which they write lyrical about the double Lilium tigrinium (this is how she was called in the old days) and were they show a beautiful drawing of her.

The reason for being so popular for so many years is not only because she is so beautiful, she is also an easy to grow garden plant that does well in every garden.
