But just based on that information, you probably won’t buy her: Orange is not exactly trendy right now, and therefore, many people skip over this Dahlia. I am asking you to please reconsider: This Dahlia is worth it. If you’re lucky, and the weather is nice, too, you might enjoy her until Halloween, and I would bet that before that date, you’ll have picked many of her flowers to give to friends and family. She is just too pretty to leave alone, and this colour is just such a happy one, it can bring a ton of energy to any arrangement.

Planting and caring for dahlia tubers
Plant dahlia tubers in spring once the risk of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Choose a sunny position with nutrient-rich, well-drained soil. Place the tubers with the old stem or growing point facing upwards and cover them with approximately 5 cm of soil. Depending on the mature height of the variety, leave around 30 to 50 cm between the tubers.
Plant dahlias in a generously sized container with good drainage. They need regular watering during warm summer weather, but the tubers should not remain in wet soil for prolonged periods.

Dahlias are planted in spring after the last night frost, once the soil has warmed sufficiently. We recommend waiting until the soil temperature is around 15°C before planting.

Yes. Dahlia tubers can be started in pots indoors from March in a bright position. Once the risk of night frost has passed, the plants can be moved outside and planted in the garden.
For several Dahlia varieties, we recommend regularly removing faded flowers and seed heads. This encourages the plant to continue producing new flowers throughout the season.
