Every year, I plant all of the Dahlias we offer to check if they are what we expect them to be. After all, you cannot see which variety a Dahlia is based on the tuber alone, and I also really like to have personal experience with our varieties when customers send us an email with questions about a purchase. You can probably guess that this means that I have hundreds of flowers every year, and especially when it comes to Dahlias, I just keep picking and picking and picking. Whatever friend we visit, I will give them Dahlias, and one of the all-time favourites for this is Brown Sugar. Everyone loves this variety. Her stems are chic and straight, and they look beautiful in a vase. The bronze colour is also very special: it goes well in any bouquet.

Dahlias

The Dahlia truly deserves every bit of love she receives. Every gardener should be placing her om a pedestal: Dahlias carry flowers for a long time, and in a large number. Even when autumn is approaching, you don’t need to worry: the Dahlia will be there to give your garden those last few rays of sunshine.

Planting dahlias:
Dahlias are summer bloomers and should be planted in spring, after the last night frost, when the soil temperature is at least 15°C. Plant the tubers about 40 cm apart for tall varieties and 30 cm for shorter varieties. For pots, choose very large pots, because dahlias need a lot of water in the warm summer months. Plant them just under the soil, about 2 cm deep.
