When you achieve something revolutionary as a breeder, create something that has never been seen before in Daffodils, you can win the Ralph B. White Medal. This price is awarded by The Horticultural Society. The RHS Bulb Committee unanimously decided that the winner of Rataplan, Rinus van der Salm, should receive the Medal in 2018. Rataplan truly is something special, she is a bit of a clown. Such a cheeky and cheerfully coloured flowers. She is a grandchild of Jetfire, and it looks like she performs just as well in the garden as her grandma. Rataplan is slightly more robust as Jetfire, more the size of February Gold. We do not have many bulbs available yet so make sure you order them in time.

Daffodils

I hear you think now, there is Carlos again with his Daffodils, isn’t he a little bit too much in love with Daffodil. Yes, I am, no problem to admit that but I really think the Daffodil is one of the most reliable bulbs.

Planting Daffodils:
Before planting, loosen the soil well and mix in a special fertilizer for flower bulbs. Dig a trench a few centimetres deep, keeping a distance of about 5 to 10 centimetres between the bulbs to prevent overcrowding. Place the bulbs point-side up and press them firmly into the soil. Water them lightly immediately after planting, and continue to water regularly. Finally, make sure the soil is well-drained, as daffodils do not tolerate overly wet conditions.
