A remarkable and beautiful large striped crocus that multiplies slowly but perennializes very well. It was named after Mr. Samuel Pickwick, the main character in The Pickwick Papers, a beautiful series of stories Charles Dickens wrote nearly two hundred years ago.

Crocus

Early March, while the winter coats and heaters are still on, there they suddenly are: the crocuses. Not afraid of the bad weather that is still to come, they decorate gardens, banks and city parks with their happy, fresh colours. Really one of my most beloved flowerbulbs, because they are reliable, grateful and most of all very pretty.

Planting Crocus:
Plant the corms of the Crocus in a not too poor, well-drained soil in sun or light shade. For early flowering, give them a sheltered and sunny spot as possible. Crocuses are ideal for edge planting, under trees and shrubs, in pots, or for naturalising in grass. If you plant the corms in grass, this spot should be skipped during the first mowing.
