Vibrant colours with a festive look. This exuberant Begonia series attracts attention with its abundant flowering and large flowers. The graceful petals give the plant a cheerful look; a party in the garden.

The tubers of the Ameri-Hybrid begonias are grown from seed, which means that there are always light colour nuances to be seen.

The tubers are not very large, but with the right care, exuberant flowering follows.

Begonias

The Ameri-hybrid has also managed to pleasantly surprise me when it comes to reliability: she is easy enough to breed. Of the literally dozens of tubers I have planted in the garden and in flower pots, not one has disappointed me. They all keep on blooming, from June all the way into September.

Planting Begonias:
Plant the begonias with the hollow side facing upwards, just below the ground. A thin layer of soil of about 2 cm is sufficient. When planting in a border, keep a distance of 25 cm between the tubers. For pots, choose large pots, as a fully grown begonia needs a lot of space and water. A larger pot provides a better water buffer, which reduces the chance of drying out.
