This is the bird-of-paradise of the Allium-family. It attracts attention with its far protruding parts and tries to be prettier than its neighbour. It needs plenty of space to display its beauty in full. Unfortunately this type of Allium doesn’t produce young bulbs (it multiplies solely by seeds), and after a few years of bloom, the old bulb dies of age. It also looks gorgeous in a large pot.
