This fantastically beautiful tulip is named after a city in the south of Chile that is affectionately called 'the pearl of the south'.
'Valdivia is like the Tulip 'La Belle Epoque' but beautiful' I always say jokingly when I see this Tulip bloom. Not entirely fair of course because there is no accounting for taste. Nevertheless, the Tulip Valdivia is a very welcome addition that is in the same breathtakingly beautiful colour spectrum as the wildly popular La Belle Epoque. Valdivia is a bit shorter, sturdier and her flowers are even more filled, I am convinced that this Tulip will also sell out quickly.
Tulips
Of all bulbs, the tulip is the best known. Tulip bulbs are widely traded and even play a role in Dutch history. The plant was introduced in the Golden Age in our country.
Planting tulips:
They thrive in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tulips hate wet feet and require well-drained soil. Never plant tulips in a single row; for best results, plant them in groups of at least 15-20 bulbs. They also make excellent container plants and are great as cut flowers.
