A tulip that radiates wildness. Its flowers shine like stars on their thin stems, seemingly uncontrolled, in all directions. A graceful tulip that clearly has a mind of its own. In my garden it even produces a sound: the moment the sun comes out, the flower attracts bees. A tulip to enjoy. If you like short plants, grab this charming tulip, writes Jacqueline van der Kloet in her book. It blooms every year in March, well before most other tulips.

Tulips

Of all bulbs, the tulip is the best known. Tulip bulbs are widely traded and even play a role in Dutch history. The plant was introduced in the Golden Age in our country.

Planting tulips:
They thrive in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tulips hate wet feet and require well-drained soil. Never plant tulips in a single row; for best results, plant them in groups of at least 15-20 bulbs. They also make excellent container plants and are great as cut flowers.
