In Dutch this tulip also goes by the name Bostulp, tulip of the woods. Not surprisingly, as sylvestris is Latin for ‘growing in the woods’. A very happy tulip that may bloom for years, especially when planted not too far under trees. In my experience the best way to make it come back over and over again, is to ensure the tulip has sunlight at least half of the day. Its appearance may seem a little shy, with its butts hanging down elegantly. With time, though, it gains confidence and develops into a proud flower with a strong presence and bright yellow flowers.

Of all bulbs, the tulip is the best known. Tulip bulbs are widely traded and even play a role in Dutch history. The plant was introduced in the Golden Age in our country.
Planting tulips:
They thrive in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tulips hate wet feet and require well-drained soil. Never plant tulips in a single row; for best results, plant them in groups of at least 15-20 bulbs. They also make excellent container plants and are great as cut flowers.
