A unique Lily with a cool catchy name. For me it was at least her name that persuaded me to buy a few bulbs of this Lily to try out myself. It was a success. Blackstone did not disappoint me in any way, beautiful, sturdy and healthy plant with beautifully shaped flowers. Her many exciting dark shades, which were different with changing light intensities made me enjoy the Blackstone to the fullest. It remains to be seen whether she will come back just as well in the following years. I suspect so, such vital looking Lilies usually do. Blackstone: highly recommended.
Lilies
The Lily is a real recommendation for the garden, beautiful plants that bloom for weeks and, if they are happy, come back for years. Planting Lilies:
Lilies need fertile, well-drained soil with a thick layer of humus. They like moist, but not too wet soil. Plant them between October and April, even during frost. Lilies can withstand cold well, provided they are not exposed to too much wind and rain. Dig a trench 10-15 cm deep, loosen the soil and add fertilizer or humus if necessary. Plant the bulbs with the point upwards and cover with soil. Keep 25-30 cm distance between the bulbs, plant them in groups of three or five.
