Tiny Bubbles
In the wine
Make me happy
Make me feel fine
Tiny Bubbles
Make me warm all over
With a feeling that I'm going to love you until the end of time
So, here's the golden moon
And here's the silver sea
But mostly, here's a toast to you and me.
When I read the sweet name of this mischievous Daffodil I had to smile. After all, she was won by the couple Becky and Brent Heath, two good Daffodil friends from Virginia in America. Becky's great hobby is singing and she does that almost always when she walks among the Daffodils. I have often visited them, and as if it were yesterday I can remember Becky singing this song. After singing the first line Brent joined in and everyone who could hear it became happy.
Becky and Brent asked us to plant their seedlings in our garden to see if any daffodil growers were interested in including them in their assortment. That's how Tiny Bubbles ended up in our garden under seedling number 7 HH. As soon as it was a few meters away, an alert grower picked it out, and it ended up back at our nursery because the growers couldn't find a market for it. We can't sell Tiny Bubbles, the buyers say it looks too much like Tete a Tete .
Nothing could be further from the truth, the only similarity is that it is also yellow. Tiny Bubbles blooms much more abundantly and its flowers last much longer and are oh so much more graceful than those of the Tete a Tete. But it distinguishes itself above all by its wonderful scent. A truly wonderful Daffodil for pots, in the rock garden, planted loosely in a natural garden or at the front of the border.
The beautiful Tiny Bubbles song text, sung by Don Ho, dates back to the sixties and if you google it, don't be afraid that you will get Heavy Metal music in your ears. What a nice name for this charming Narcissus.

Daffodil bulbs
I hear you think now, there is Carlos again with his Daffodils, isn’t he a little bit too much in love with Daffodil. Yes, I am, no problem to admit that but I really think the Daffodil is one of the most reliable bulbs.
Planting Daffodils:
Daffodils are planted in the fall (when the leaves fall from the trees), because they bloom in the spring. Make sure you plant them before the frost.
Before planting, loosen the soil well and mix in a special fertilizer for flower bulbs. Dig a trench a few centimetres deep, keeping a distance of about 5 to 10 centimetres between the bulbs to prevent overcrowding. Place the bulbs point-side up and press them firmly into the soil. Water them lightly immediately after planting, and continue to water regularly. Finally, make sure the soil is well-drained, as daffodils do not tolerate overly wet conditions.
Caring for daffodils
After flowering, you should cut off the withered flowers so that all the energy goes to the bulb. The bulb can then provide extra beautiful flowers in the following growing season. In this way, you ensure that you can enjoy your daffodils for years to come.
