Dahlia American Sunset

The American Sunset has the color of a truly beautiful sunset, absolutely magnificent. Her name suggests that she originates from America, but nothing could be further from the truth. Her cradle is nearby, in Breezand, North Holland, where she was cultivated by Peter Komen. Peter sets the bar high in his breeding work; only the very best is good enough. When I occasionally walk through his seedlings with him, I am always amazed by the fantastically beautiful Dahlias he discards. At the slightest imperfection, a Dahlia ends up on the compost heap. I sometimes think it's a real shame, but on the other hand, you also know that if you have a Dahlia from Peter, it is truly of high quality. The same goes for the American Sunset. Not only is its color fantastic, but it is also a healthy, strong, robust plant with a sea of flowers. A Dahlia that brings joy to the garden and is also perfect for picking a bouquet.
