Ton Peter van Nieuwkerk is one probably the best Amaryllis hybridizer of this moment. Nymph is one of his showpieces with her thrilling large double flowers. The way the large flower buds are coming out of the bulbs is a spectacle by itself. If you want something striking, plant Nymph.

Amaryllis

The biggest reason I love the Amaryllis so much is because she always performs well. Always? Yes always. No kidding, if you leave them in the box they will still bloom. It seems that it can’t go wrong.

Planting Amaryllis:
Planting an amaryllis is quite easy. Plant the amaryllis bulb in a pot that is half filled with soil, but in such a way that the neck of the bulb protrudes above the soil. Make sure that the soil remains somewhat moist and place the pot in a warm, but not too sunny place, then within six to eight weeks there will be a beautiful amaryllis in your living room.

It is even possible to plant an amaryllis bulb without using soil. Then it needs a vase in which the bulb can stand upright. This way the roots can hang in the water.
