Lilium pumilum

It already is in the name, this is a small lily. But small as she is, in June she will be the highlight in the garden. Because of her phenomenal colour she is also called the ‘Coral Lily’.

The first year after planting she hardly throws 10 flowers per bulb and she grows up till 50 centimetres at the most. The following years she grows quite a bit taller and produces mugh more flowers. The bulbs of Lilium pumilum are also small, a bulb of 16 centimetres is the top size.
