Bulbocodium Mary Poppins

Little Daffodils that look like this are called Hoop Petticoat Daffodils, a catching nick name For this type of flowers. A good Daffodil friend gave me this little Daffodil as a seedling and because she did not have a name yet I asked my Face book friend for suggestions. It was amazing what a waterfall of names were proposed; Petticoat - Crinoline - Buttercup - Sissi – Hoopskirt – Baby Doll – Hula Dancer – Prettycoat – Eggcup – Yella Bella – Tu Tu – Hoola Hoop – Cuppa – Zlatko – Rockefeller – Yellow Cab – Wedding Dress – Miniskirt – Mary Go Round – Prima Ballerina – Roundabout – Trumpet Go Go, too much to mention. The nice thing about Mary Poppins is, besides her cheerful blossoms of course, that she blooms for an enormous long time with countless flowers. When the first flowers wither the second draft is in full bloom and when they bloom you still see buds emerging. Truly unique as long as Mary Poppins is singing in the garden.
