That it is allowed for one of our own seedlings to carry this name is an honour. It was a bulb grower pur sang who asked the Anotoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital in Amsterdam if it was okay to name a Daffodil after Queen Beatrix, as thanks for the good care they took for his wife. Former Queen Beatrix is patroness of this notable hospital.
The proposal was to this to as a tribute to the club of volunteers who offer careful services to the patients and give a little bit more comfort to their lives. The volunteers embraced the bulb growers request, their logo is also a Daffodil. but the volunteers did ask him if they could choose the Daffodil themselves. I was so happy that they choose this Daffodil, for me this was by far my nicest yellow trumpet seedling, they could not have picked a better one.

This Daffodil can look forward to a lovely future, she is lovesome chosen by loving people who do nothing else than sharing their love… and then such a beautiful name.
