The Dutch Dahlia growers plant every year, somewhere around the village Lisse, on the farm of one of their colleagues, a show garden for Dahlia's to show their collective collection. For any interested bulb trader or cut flower growers, this is the absolute place to be for the comparing and composing of an assortment of Dahlia's that is as beautiful as can be. Eric Breed and I visit the place often, armed with our cameras, on the lookout for Dahlias that are most beautiful and most suitable for your garden. It's a job that needs careful attention, because some Dahlias are just better suited as cut flowers than as garden plants. Myrtle's Folly was one that just could not be missed: gorgeous, bold and richly flowering, with nice, sweetly coloured flowers.
