My father started collecting daffodils in the late seventies. Back then, quite a few experienced bulb breeders visited our home, bringing with them old and very special varieties grown by their fathers, along with their memories of those days. Some varieties were over a hundred years old!
I took an instant liking to some of them and decided, as they had proven to be fine species, to grow stock from them. Occasionally you will find them in an old border or a farm garden – beautiful old-fashioned and cheerful little flowers of varieties that are excellent perennializers.
