This distinct, warm yellow daffodil is a selection of the species Narcissus x odorus. The odorus seems to be a natural hybrid of the pseudo narcissus and the jonquilla daffodil. It’s no surprise that they named her odorus hundreds of years ago: when you put her in a vase, her delightful scent will surprise you. Orange Queen is, like the other odorus daffodils, floriferous and long lasting. In 1908, they introduced her as a separate selection because of her extraordinary warm yellow colour.
