The small tulips in this category are wild tulip species (also called botanical tulips), or direct descendents thereof. They are miniature varieties of the tulip as we know it.
Perfect to be planted in a pot, and also surprisingly pretty in a border, between low growing shrubs and plants. If the tulip is happy where you planted it, it may well perennialize extensively.
