From the Allium, also called ornamental onion, is grown in hundreds of varieties. Worldwide the Allium is most well-known bulb. Onions, garlic, leek, chive and shallot, they all are Alliums. As an ornamental flower the Allium is mostly known as a plant with the ball shaped blueish purple flower. Every know and then a white one or one with a slightly different shape, but the vast majority of the Alliums look a lot like their brothers and sisters. Allium Red Mohican luckily shows something different. Her nice colour and the distinct shape of her flower are a welcome addition to the world of Alliums.
